The Heritage Golf and Country Club boasts two of the Yarra Valley’s most magnificent 18-hole golf courses. St John course is an American parkland style course with wide generous fairways and subtle greens to test even the most serious golfer. Originally designed by Jack Nicklaus, the course wraps around the spectacular Heritage entrance and extends to the banks of the Yarra river. St John’s specially designed bunkers artfully guide players through the immaculately groomed greens. Strategically placed slopes, mounds and traps make every hole a quest of its own.. The second course, the Henley, is a truly beautiful links style course. A hidden treasure, The Henley is tranquil, rich in wildlife and bordered by a tapestry of roughs as picturesque as its flawless fairways. Weaving through wetlands and oxbow tundra carved by the river, The Henley rises alongside the Warrandyte State Forest. The roughs are as picturesque as the fairways and the rugged terrain is much more in keeping with the traditional Scottish or Irish links courses. The Henley has the traditional ‘nine holes out and nine holes in. The emerald-green fairways, sculptured greens and bunkers give way to blue billabongs and wetlands splashed with waterlilies and birdlife.
